How is the Beach Chair (re) different from the original Beach Chair?

The Beach Chair (re) adds a new perimeter tension line to prevent sag, cooler 300D recycled fabric, and a mesh side pocket. It upgrades to wider aluminum poles and tougher nylon hubs for superior stability over the original.

Does it come with a built-in shade or canopy?

No canopy is included, but it fits the separate Helinox Personal Shade. It has a headrest flap where you can tuck a rolled towel, jacket, or its own carry bag to create a plush head pillow while lounging in the sun.

Is this the only Helinox chair that's good for the beach?

No - though the Beach Chair (re) has splayed legs for sand, others work too. Use the ultra-portable Chair Zero LT with its built-in ground stabilizer, or add Helinox Ball Feet / Ground Sheets / Ground Strap to the Chair One (re) or Sunset Chair (re) to stop sinking.

What's the difference between the Beach Chair (re) and the (re) Mesh?

Both share the same sand-friendly splayed legs. The (re) uses solid 300D fabric and packs slim 21 x 6 x 4.5 inch (53 x 15 x 11 cm) into a zip case. The Mesh uses a full open-weave for airflow and packs larger 21.5 x 6.5 x 9 inch (55 x 16 x 23 cm) in a mesh tote that shakes out sand and air-dries to prevent mold.

Who is the Beach Chair (re) best for?

Fits adults up to 6'4" (193 cm) wanting a high headrest but low seat. Its splayed legs and flat feet won't sink into soft sand, mud, or turf - the ultimate luxury option for ocean beaches, lakeside shores, concerts, and low-profile camping.

Can it be used in windy weather?

You can use Helinox lightweight chairs in windy weather with the help of our Chair Anchor, which pushes easily into dirt, sand, or turf to create a safe, secure anchoring system.

How do I clean off sand and salt water?

Brush or rinse off loose sand, then rinse the frame with fresh water (important after salt water, to protect the finish). Spot-clean the seat with warm water. Let everything dry fully before packing - the Mesh tote is especially good for shaking out sand and air-drying.
